Hale Omni Panel Pet Door for Sliding Glass Doors

A Hale OMNI Pet Door for patio doors is quick and easy to install and remove because it is custom made to pressure-fit directly into your sliding door tracks. Each pet door is pre-installed into the panel, and no drilling of holes or screws is required, as patented nut and bolt assembly that exerts pressure, making a very secure fit. Hale Omni pet door are made using double pane, tempered, and insulated low e glass and a double flap, making them the most energy efficient sliding glass dog door on the market. A custom Omni Lock Bar is also supplied to fit behind the sliding glass door to prevent it from opening

Omni Panel vs Standard Panel

While both this Omni model and the Standard Panel Pet Model for Sliding Glass Doors work for sliding glass doors, the Omni takes up less of the people passage than the Standard, but is NOT recommended for over patio doors over 82". The Omni is also an easily removable installation, whereas the Standard panel is screwed into the patio frame. The Omni models are designed to fit vinyl sliding doors such as those made by Pella and Andersen.

• Flap Size: 11 standard sizes available from small to giant. Use the Size Chart below, or click on the Additional Info tab for more details..
• Frame Color: Available in four color choices
• Beige - hard coat paint, looks like coffee with a couple of creamers added.
• Brushed Aluminum - anodized metal, satin nickel color, looks like the bottom of a Coke can.
• Dark Bronze - anodized metal, chocolate brown, looks almost black in dimmer light.
• White - white hard coat paint.

• Overall Width of Stationary Door (A): Measure from the back of the sliding glass door (when closed) to the opposite door jamb. This measurement is used to make the Omni Lock Bar. It follows the same principle as a length of broomstick stuck in the track. Please supply us with the full measurement. • Step-Over (Rise) Height: Specify how much clearance you would like underneath your pet door. The shortest possible rise is 1" which is the size of the door frame. For taller animals there are 5" and 10 " rises. Keep in mind the layout of the ground on both the inside and outside of the door as you do not want your pet to have to jump through the door. If you have more than one pet, you will need a rise short enough for the pet with the shortest legs and a door opening tall enough for the tallest pet.

• Optional Training Flap: Additional flap, for temporary use while your pet is timid and learning how to use the pet door
• Optional Low E Coating: Optional coating applied to the glass in your panel for more energy efficiency and to reduce heat while still allowing light to enter.
• Optional Tinting: Applies a colored coating to the glass to reduce heat.  Tint changes with glass thickness and other variables and cannot be guaranteed as to exact color or darkness

Hale Pet Door - Flap Size Chart

The easiest way to test flap size for your pet is to cut a hole in a piece of cardboard that is the size of the flap you are interested in, then coax your pet through (use treats if necessary). Place the cardboard in the opening of a door so they have to walk through the hole to get to the reward! See what flap size and step over height (height from floor to bottom of where the flap will be installed) works best for your pet.

Pet Door Technical Specifications

• Flaps: Double flaps (one flap on each door surface) made of flexible 3/16” clear PVC vinyl. Also available in black and white.
• Frame: Extruded heavy aluminum
• Inner Frame: Inner frame made of two separate metal extrusions. Three sides entrap the security cover. Both metals are .063” wall thickness.
• Outer Frame: Extruded 6063-T5 aluminum with .063” wall thickness. Designed to sleeve into the inside frame.
• Energy Efficiency
• Weather Stripping: Flaps are surrounded by ½” nylon pile for maximum insulation. Nylon is woven into a backing 9/32” wide and 1/32” thick.
• Alnico5 Magnets: A ¼” rod magnet 1 ½” long made from an aluminum, nickel and cobalt alloy known for its strength and durability. Door size determines number of magnets.
• Strikes: Made of ferrous stainless steel. 1 ½” long, ¾” tall and 1/32” thick. U shaped with interior prongs, when squeezed onto the vinyl flap, the barbed prongs hold firmly.
• Double Flap: Creates Insulation with dead air space between flaps
• Security Cover: 1/4” thick King Starboard® or 3/16" Lexan® polycarbonate sheet. Extremely shock and impact resistant. Has a 3/8” diameter locking hole and a ¾” diameter handle hole. Can be installed outside or inside. Required drill bits are included.
• Pin Lock: Mounted on the frame secures the cover in place, with a ¼” diameter positive action steel pin encased with 5/32” thick fabricated plated steel.

Panel Technical Specifications

• Jamb: Heavy 1/16” wall extruded aluminum 7/8” x 15/16”. Inside of jamb holds the glass and vinyl weather stripping and outside has a channel to hold the pile weather stripping.
• Adjusting Mechanism: Two 4” x 5/16-18 pan head bolts and four 5/16-18 jam nuts. The top two nuts hold the bolts tightly. The bottom two nuts, when adjusted downward, effect an upward jackscrew type motion allowing the unit to be tightly secured without the use of screws.
• Sliding Plate: 1/16” x 4 ½” tall plate on both the inner and outer sides of the adjustment area, color coordinated to frame color. Plate can be lowered to make adjustment and raised to cover mechanism when adjustment is complete.
• Omni Lock Bar: Fits behind sliding glass door to prevent opening.
• Glass: Double pane insulated tempered glass.
• Vinyl Weather Stripping: Unit also comes with extra length of 1 7/8” x 1/16” black vinyl weather stripping to attach to back edge of your patio door to prevent air leakage.

The warranty period for all Hale Pet Door model pet doors is effective from the date of purchase and extends to the anniversary date marking the end of the fifth year. Hale agrees to exchange or repair at the company's expense, any unit found to be defective in workmanship and/or material, subject to inspection. Hale Pet Door will even credit 50% towards the cost of a replacement Hale Pet Door, any door that was damaged by the customer (due to no fault by Hale Pet Door).
